AHAHHAHA!!!! SWEET VICTORY!!

I PASSSSEED!!!! OTR BABY!! :)

FINALLY! I DID IT!! AFTER months and months of frustration and utter complications, I FINALLY HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BECOME AN OTR :) The great thing is I really feel like I understand this shit now lol, like I have the base knowledge to become a better OTR..NOW...than if I had passed in march! :). I CAN FINALLY relax...and start working on finding me one of those job things...lol.

Nadia Raja, OTR...has a VERY nice ring to it dont you think :)

The final poster says, "The surest way not to fail is to determine to succeed." - for the third time taking this test...I think that is what I did :)

  1. Hey Nadia, and congrats on passing the test. I have taken the exam 4x with no success and planning on taking the 5th in Aug. I was 3 points shy from passing, (the closest I have gotten in 4 attempts). I am really tired of studying the same thing over and over again bc I really feel I know all this stuff already. What did you do differently the 3x around to finally passing the exam. I have all books, take numerous exams, study cards, notes, etc, etc. So, I know this stuff, but really dont know how to prepare for this 5th go around. Any suggestion.

  2. WOw, I really didnt think anyone would read this :P cool though :). Well Laa Bella I can tell you what I did differently the second time. I knew I knew the material the 2nd time, the issue was I was NOT reading the questions CORRECTLY. The two most important things you have to realize while taking this test is SAFETY IS UTMOST importance and this test is based on an IDEAL environment not your typical environment.

I focused most my third time studying on HOW to answer the questions. For example when a patient is in outpatient rehab and has emphysema but wants to continue wood working what is the best solution for him? The answer would be for him to wear a mask while wood working because purse lip breathing wouldnt help with the wood chip particles and dust....

Lastly, I highly suggest taking the online test at the NBCOT website, test 7 was very helpful. Also the OT advantage class was very helpful for me too. Any more questions let me know!!

  3. Well I read it, lol

I definitely understand the Safety and taking the 4th time, I kept that it mind, which gave a pretty high score, just not high enough.

I have taken the NBCOT exam online and passed it, questions ere realllly hard though.

What kind of things does the OT advantage course bring to the table? I dont want to waste money on a course and wont learn anything or teach me things I have already learned or know.

Thanks for responds and for the tips on how to answer the questions. Greatly Appreciate!
